We are dedicated to the care of children. Our team consists of board-certified pediatricians, pediatric specialists and specially trained staff. Our goal is to provide comprehensive pediatric care to keep your little ones happy and healthy.
Wali Gauvin

Wali Gauvin
M.D., FAAP

Co-Owner, Pediatric Cardiologist

Dr. Wali Gauvin is a board-certified pediatric cardiologist. He received his medical degree from The State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse. He completed his pediatric residency at Winthrop University Hospital, and his pediatric cardiology fellowship at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. Dr. Gauvin is passionate about nutrition and physical fitness and improving the mental and physical health of children. He is fluent in Spanish and English.

CharlRé Slaughter-Atiemo
M.D., FAAP

Co-Owner, General Pediatrician

Dr. CharlRe’ Slaughter-Atiemo is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She earned her Bachelor of Science at Cornell University and graduated cum laude from Morehouse School of Medicine with her Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Slaughter-Atiemo completed her Pediatric Internship and Residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including membership in the AOA Honor Medical Society. Dr. Slaughter-Atiemo is board-certified in Pediatrics and has an interest in Adolescent medicine and preventative care. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 kids, cooking, and traveling.

Nadia V. Wedderburn

Co-Owner, Nurse Practitioner

Nadia Wedderburn is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Florida International University, and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She is a personable, empathetic provider with over seven (7) years of nursing experience including medical-surgical care, cardiac telemetry, and obstetrics/gynecology. As a passionate nurse practitioner, her special interests include, but are not limited to, pediatric primary care and pediatric mental health. Nadia resides in Southern Maryland, with her husband and three children, and enjoys family time, playing music, and traveling.

Crystal Brown
M.D., FAAP

General Pediatrician

Dr. Crystal Brown completed her undergraduate studies at University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology in 2002. During her studies Dr. Brown was active in research and received a Howard Hughes Fellowship for research along with multiple honors for academic excellence. Dr. Brown attended medical school at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and received her Doctorate degree of Medicine in 2006 after which continued her postgraduate residency training in pediatrics at University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. She is board certified, has been practicing pediatrics in southern Maryland since 2009 and loves serving the community in which she was born and raised. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with family, including her 2 German Shepherd dogs; gardening, cooking, reading and traveling.

Nurse Practitioner

Lea Lacefield is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, with specialized training in pediatrics and community health. Lea has worked in healthcare for over 13 years. She was born and raised in Southern Maryland and is passionate about providing care and giving back to her local community. Lea received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Chamberlain University and her Masters of Science in Nursing degree from Bowie State University. In addition, she is a certified lactation (breastfeeding) specialist and co-owns Milky Moms lactation services. As a medical provider, Lea is highly interested in parent education and preventative care. As a mother of three, she can relate to the joys and challenges of parenting and enjoys building relationships with children and their families.

Karla Washington
FNP-C, DNP

Nurse Practitioner

Karla Washington is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of nursing experience. She possesses a diverse background as a Nurse Practitioner with experience in adult primary care, pediatrics, and urgent care. Karla was born and raised in New York. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Bio psychology from Russell Sage College, then went on to pursue her Master of Arts in Community and Counseling Psychology degree. It was at that time Karla discovered her passion for nursing. Karla pivoted her career and completed her ADN in Nursing degree at Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Chamberlain University and Master of Science in Nursing degree from Chamberlain University. Karla is owner of DRIP DMV specializing in IV infusions, vitamin injections, weight loss and aesthetics. In her free time Karla enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Alicia Stanford

Nurse Practitioner

Alicia Stanford is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Alicia brings over 7 years of pediatric experience ranging from private practice, pediatric acute care and critical care. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and Masters of Science in Nursing from Walden University. She is a recipient of multiple Daisy awards from Children's National Medical Center. Her passions include providing compassionate and evidence based care to all. Alicia, a mother of two, was raised in Southern Maryland and is proud to serve her community. In her off time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and reading.

Ryan Hess
FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner

Ryan Hess is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with experience in both pediatric and adult patient populations. Ryan grew up in the Southern Maryland area and spent six years of his nursing career in local emergency departments. He graduated from Chamberlain University with a Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2021. He has been a nurse practitioner for two years. Ryan has a personal interest in weightlifting, nutrition and men's health. Ryan is the owner of a medical practice - Apex HRT, which primarily addresses men's health concerns.  Outside of the office, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.

Claire Costley

Speech and Language Pathologist

Claire Costley is a Speech-Language Pathologist and a member of the American Speech and
Hearing Association (ASHA). She earned her Bachelor of Health Science from the University of
Florida, and her Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of
Central Florida. Claire has extensive experience working in the pediatric outpatient setting. She
is passionate about child-led and play-based therapy, as well as, augmentative and alternative
communication (AAC). In her spare time, Claire enjoys spending time with her family, exploring
the outdoors, and reading thrillers!

Alyssa Moon
M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech and Language Pathologist

Alyssa Moon is a Speech and Language Pathologist and is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). She earned her Bachelor of Science from Andrews University in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology, and her master of science from the University of Wyoming in Speech and Language Pathology - Communication Disorders. Alyssa has experience across a wide range of medical settings including acute care, post-acute rehabilitation, outpatient therapy and home health services. She is passionate about providing children and families individualized treatment and enabling parents to be active members of their child's care team. In her spare time Alyssa enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, hiking and exploring new places.

Kelsey Blake

Speech and Language Pathologist

Kelsey Blake is a Speech and Language Pathologist and is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education from Utah State University and her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. Kelsey has extensive experience working in pediatric outpatient and educational settings. She is passionate about child-led and play-based therapy, as well as caregiver and patient education. In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, adventuring with her husband and dog, and watching Rom-coms.
